The muddy fun of the UK’s biggest obstacle course for children is heading to Hertfordshire for the first time as St Albans joins The Little Welly family.
The Little Welly Goes Wild is all about children having fun. It’s that simple. We give kids the opportunity to get outdoors, reconnect with nature, to run wild and free… and get as wet and muddy as they like! Our obstacle course and activities are designed to challenge and inspire, and allow children a sense of independence.
Run over two days this is a weekend for the whole family to enjoy. At the heart of the event is our famous 3km obstacle course for 4-12 year olds. Children take on the challenge of 30 obstacles including the foam pit, hay bale climbs, rope swings, climbing walls, mud pit, ball cage, net crawl and the big slide. It’s a great opportunity for children to go on an adventure, work together to take on the challengers and feel the buzz of what they’ve achieved as they collect their medal at the finish line.
The Little Welly Goes Wild is much more than just an obstacle course, and there’s loads going on making this a great family day out. Activities include pony rides, ball sports, football darts, zorbing and the ever-popular laser tag. We have den building, a mini obstacle course for toddles and climbing walls. Bertie Slippers will be appearing on stage keeping children entertained throughout the weekend and getting everyone motivated and raring to go is our celebrity personal trainer and event MC Stuart. There’s fantastic live music on Saturday and Sunday from acoustic duo Adam Isaac (as seen on The Voice) and Laura Williams.
All this running around works up an appetite so there’s lots of food options available on site, from pulled pork to waffle on a stick. There are vegetarian and gluten-free options too. And while we try our best to get kids muddy we have Professor Scrubbington’s on site to clean them up again.
The Little Welly St Albans will be at the Hertfordshire Showground on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 July. You’ll need to book ahead and choose the obstacle course time slot you would like.
